2 Days in Hong Kong: Day 1, Meeting Buddha, Dim Sum, and The World’s Longest Escalator

Hong Kong was such a whirlwind. We were there for just under 3 days, and we filled every minute with something. Even though our trip was fast, we were able to squeeze in all the major sights that were recommended to us, eat some authentic food, and explore the beautiful city. 

Day 1 started with a trip to meet the Giant Buddha. There were a couple of ways to get up to the giant statue, and we decided to go with Cable Cars. I guess we were feeling brave. That bravery went straight out the window very quickly once we boarded. Although we did get to see some great views. 

Phew, solid ground! We made it. 

We said Hello to Buddha, and caught the cable cars back down because we were hungry and so ready to try some authentic Chinese dim sum. Kyla had found a place that was said to be one of the best on the island, so we hopped in a cab and headed that direction. 

This place was the real deal. We could tell because the only people outside were locals. 

I have never had dim sum back in the states, but Kyla and Jenna agreed this was maybe a little too authentic for our American taste buds. Either way, it was quite the experience. 

We finished the night in Soho, riding the worlds longest escalator while grabbing wine and appetizers from all the adorable nearby cafes.
